Centre for Homelessness Impact - Challenging perceptions of homelessness
Sharon and her son Billy lived in a four-bed home that they rented from a housing
association, until they were assaulted and had to leave the area. For several weeks, they had
to move around from hostel to hostel until being placed where they are now. They feel safe
where they are now, and are on the waiting list for social housing. Billy is doing a 3-year
joiner apprenticeship, and later hopes to join the army. This is the first time they have
experienced homelessness.
