Vince had a happy and loving childhood but always knew there was something slightly different about himself. He used to say he was bisexual and married a girl he met at uni and went on to have a family. Following the breakdown of his marriage, over the space of five years he was sofa surfing between friends, going out and partying and taking drugs. He ended up being arrested and spent six months in prison. He believes one of the greatest things about realising his sexuality and being gay is that his probation officer put him in touch with First People, who provide holistic support and celebrate them as individuals. He’d like to get back into work and likes the idea of being a librarian as someone who immerses himself in books.
